ANR Taxonomy Project
What is the ANR Taxonomy Project?
The ANR Taxonomy project gives us a way to categorize our academics in meaningful ways with a focus on the areas of work an academic takes part in, including commodities and knowledge areas.
Individual academics self-identify their interest in commodities and knowledge areas which are derived from Federal reporting categories. In the past, Advisors and Specialists were encouraged to create these connections in our reporting system. We've taken this feature out of the reporting tool, and made it available universally.
By using this existing Federal taxonomy, we can prepare ourselves to integrate with future reporting requirements, as well as giving us a balanced and tested approach to categorization. In addition to the current categories, we can add any categories necessary.
Immediate Goals:
- Accurate and complete data set.
- Call to each college for updated CE/AES rosters in mid-November.
- Davis and Riverside have responded
- Berkeley reports they will have data in December.

For public use, the ANR Academic Directory is available with a simplified interface.

If any college would like to be more connected to this project, ANR can create custom reports that could be integrated into your websites. We are also willing to export this data in any manner that you would require.
