Writing Right for the Web
Bob Johnson, PhD is a noted Web communications expert who specializes in higher education. A while back, we asked Bob to help us with our web communications. One of his tasks was to review of a random sample of UCCE websites and give us feedback.
You can download theWeb site review Executive Report as well as the full UCCE Website review presentation he gave to the group.
You'll immediately notice that the Web review was done on sites in their SB 2.0 incarnations - but there is still great information in the findings. Did you really updated your site when you made the transition?
If you missed one of Bob's Writing Right for the Web workshops, ANR personnel can view a taped version.
This workshop will teach you key guidelines to use when writing for the Web in order to engage visitors in their critical first seconds on your page. You’ll receive tools that enable you to evaluate your current Web site and learn how to rewrite existing content in a Web-friendly style.
The 3-hour streaming version of the workshop has been divided into four sections so it’s easier to view from your desktop. Because of our agreement with Johnson, these streams are only available to ANR faculty and staff, and the files are password protected.
